Spring Break Day 1

We've headed out on an adventure this week...Spring Break with the kids and grandparents. We were really excited about spending a week in Florida with the kids and my mom and dad, but a little nervous about the 20 hour car ride. It actually went really smooth. Aside from the bickering coming from my children (each sitting on a different bench seat in the back with a different grandparent) Marc and I spent about an hour devising plans as to how we'd drive to Florida the next time. We thought about buying one of those luggage carrier that strap to the top of the mini van and making them ride in that... and went as far as pretending we could put those dog zap collars on them and everytime we heard them start to bicker (zzzzzzzzppppppppp), tattle (zzzzzzzzppppppppp), yell (zzzzzzzzppppppppp), or shrug their arms saying, "What'd I do?" (zzzzzzzzppppppppp). But we realized we were having way too much fun. Kinda sick parents, aren't we?!
And we did have a conversation about what it used to be like on car trips with our parents when we were younger.... My kids had a DVD player, about 20 movies, 2 Nintendo DS's that the could text each other back and forth and play a variety of about 30 games, MP3 players, activity books, a laptop with internet access in a moving vehicle... and they still got bored. We used to get some coloring books ad crayons.
Hopefully we're in for a good week. We swam tonight when we got to the hotel, the weather was beautifully warm. I'm sure I'll be posting throughout the week.
