It seems like the days are flying by in fast-forward lately. Wake up, go to work, come home, make dinner, do homework, go to bed...rewind to beginning, do all over again. Then it's the weekend. When you blink, the weekend is over and it's time to start the routine all over again.
Sometimes I just want to yell..."stop, I want to get off!"
The typical weekend consists of running around grocery shopping, cleaning the house because we trash it during the week, doing laundry, and then folding the mountain of clothes piled in my bedroom that I didn't have time to fold all week. And it never fails that all the kids congregate at our house, as we had 5 kids sleeping over last friday night. Yup, we're the parents that always say OK when the kids ask to have a friend over.
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah...I know. Everyone is busy. But sometimes I just feel like everything is passing by and I'm missing it. My niece is 2 months old this week and I haven't seen her in a month. Bad Aunt Julie!!
The good point: The kids both just finished their sporting seasons. Alex had 13 tournaments for basketball. That means 13 saturdays that we sit in gymnasiums for hours. But most of hers took place with bad weather outside so it really didn't bother me. Sam just had his last wrestling tournament yesterday. He had a shorter season, only about 2 1/2 months.
Speaking of Sam and wrestling, he started this year. Marc and I just kind of said "Yeah, whatever." when he told us he wanted to wrestle. Neither of us knew anything about wrestling (unless of course Marc could teach him the figure 4 leg lock off the coffee table). So we go to his first tournament and he loses his first match. Oh well. He was realy nonchalant abou the whole thing. Then he went out his second match that day and kicked butt. Who knew!?! The little man could wrestle, and he's good! As a matter of fact, the little shit won 5 medals this season - 3 first places and 2 second places. That's out of 6 tournaments. The onehe didn't medal in, he got 4th place and he was wrestling kids from big schools downriver!
Anyways... hopefully I can get back on track now. The weather is nice. We've started outside yardwork, school will be over in about a month and a half.

I think I am riding the same roller coaster as you!
Does it get worse or better when school is out?
